Summary
The Sales Manager is responsible for operating sales activities, from lead generation to closing, in an assigned set of customers and a given territory. Generating sales revenue, growth, and account penetration by selling products and services directly to end users are the main assignments of the role.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, including engineering firms, manufacturers, and research institutions.
- Identify customer needs, provide product demonstrations, and offer customized solutions to address specific requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including sales engineers and technical support staff, to ensure seamless customer experience and successful implementation of Ansys products.
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments to inform sales strategies and product positioning.
- Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports, and other documentation as required by management.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; MBA is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of individual quota-carrying experience in technical sales, preferably in the software or engineering industry.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of engineering simulation software, particularly Ansys products, and their applications across various industries.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed. Minimum travel of 50%
